Community

little birds elc acknowledges the Traditional Custodians, the Wurundjeri People, of the land on which our childcare service is established and their continuing connection to land, sea and community.

little birds elc also pays respect to Elders past and present. We support our educators to insert their views into our educational practices, so their language and culture are accessible to all children. We promote the advancement of close, open and respectful ties with the local community and elders.

Meals

It is important to discuss nutritional and dietary requirements with each family upon enrolment, to ensure our mealscan cater to your child’s individual needs. We also work on teaching the children in health, nutrition, fresh food choices and balance in their diet to use into adulthood.

Each day, our seasonal menu offers:

  • Family breakfast
  • Morning tea
  • Freshly cooked lunch
  • Fresh fruit and water is provided all-day
  • Afternoon tea
  • All dietary requirements catered for

Sustainability

We place a particular priority on the environment and sustainability, and we teach children to ensure that “there is enough for all, forever”.

The services use various sustainable practises throughout little birds elc, including recycling schedule, to teach children about protecting the environment and highlight ways available for them to become environmentally accountable and show respect for the environment.
